Manfred Wörner was a German politician and diplomat.
He served as the Minister of Defence of West Germany between 1982 and 1988. Subsequently, he served as the seventh Secretary General of NATO from 1988 to 1994. During his tenure as Secretary General, the Cold War ended and Germany was reunified.
Memorial: A street in the "Krustova Vada" and "Manastirski Livadi" neighborhoods of Sofia is named after Manfred Wörner.
